HowTo install programs in Linux - a very helpful guide for the new Linux user who is missing the .EXE files to install programs

The Linux Documentation Project - a website that offers How-Tos, FAQs and Guides for Linux. The site does not look very stylish, but contains really good guides and ebooks, and most of it is up-to-date.
GetDeb - a wonderful software source that offers a lot of up-to-date packages (games, utilities etc.) that are not available in the default Ubuntu repositories (at least not in their latest version). Manual download only, for installation of the .deb files, simply left-click them after download.
Medibuntu - the semi-offical Ubuntu site for additional multimedia enhancements such as codecs, players and stuff
